However, you may be unsure as to how any decorative tile can be put to good use. Here are some tips and tricks for ways you can introduce those lovely accents to your home.
One Inch Square Tiles
Sold on sheets that are a foot square, these tiles come in a range of colors. Choose porcelain, stone or glass for a truly custom look. You can cover an entire bath enclosure with these tiles, or you can get creative.
Cut the sheets of tile into narrow strips that are a few inches wide and create an amazing, custom border. You can also use those thin strips as a backsplash in the kitchen. Put a stripe around the middle of the enclosure for a look that’s different and yet subdued. Cut them into squares and mix them in with solid tiles for a random pattern.
Border Tiles
The obvious choice for border tiles is to place them at the outer edges of a tiled area. However, there are more interesting uses for border tiles.
