Granite Countertops
The most commonly desired material for kitchen countertops is natural stone slabs, or granite in particular. Aside from the elegance and sophistication that granite brings to a kitchen, it is also very attractive and matches well with virtually any kitchen style, whether that is modern or traditional.
However, the cost of granite slabs are quite expensive, putting it out of reach for many people. If you like the look of granite but not the price, consider creating a granite tile countertop instead.
Nearly Seamless Design
After purchasing granite tiles, you can lay them side by side and tile any countertop material to make it resemble a solid slab. By using darker grout that matches the tile, you can even make it look seamless. This is obviously much cheaper than a solid slab of granite, but looks remarkably similar.
DIY Installation
Unlike granite slabs which have to be professionally cut to size and later installed, granite tile countertops can easily be a DIY project, even for those with little experience. This is also a way to cut the costs of a kitchen build or remodel.
If you want to have a granite countertop but simply can’t afford the high price of a solid slab, consider using granite tile to create a nearly seamless and affordable countertop instead.
